PUBLIC NOTICE: Application for NSP2 FundsLake County, as part of a consortium, has prepared an Application for the Neighborhood Stabilization Program 2 (NSP2) under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), 2009 for funds in the amount of Fourteen Million Dollars. ($14,000,000.00). This NSP2 program is a competitive program in which the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will review all applications based on meeting threshold requirements of a 6 part (factor) rating system. The County/Consortium must make this application available for public comment for ten (10) days prior to submission to HUD. The NSP2 application must be submitted to HUD by July 17, 2009 or the applicant will not be eligible for these funds. The proposed use of funds is as follows: Acquisition and Rehabilitation of eligible properties. The areas of greatest need are: Target census tracts in Merrillville, INTarget census tracts in Lake Station, IN Target census tracts in New Chicago, IN Target census tracts in Crown Point, IN Target census tracts in Miller Area of Gary, IN As of July 6, 2009 the Amended Action Plan is available for public review on the County web site at www.lakecountyin.com. It is also available in paper form at the office of the Lake County Community and Economic Development Department (LCCEDD) in the Lake County Government Center at 2293 N. Main Street, Crown Point, IN 46307. The NSP2 application may be reviewed at the Department between 8:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. through July 16, 2009.
